The black & white portrait you have above is of William Bradford (1719 – 25 September 1791), a printer, soldier, and leader from Philadelphia during the American Revolution.
This should not be confused with the William Bradford of the Mayflower that your article is about. They are 2 different people. For accuracy, the image should be removed.

In reply to <a href="https://howwisethen.com/plymouth-plantation-william-bradford/#comment-5721">Adele Shepard</a>.

Hello Adele - It appears you know a great deal more about all this than I've learned in my research. I have no reason to doubt what you've posted. My research focused more on events on the other side of the Atlantic and then on this side up through the first few years at Plimoth Plantation. As for the portrait, it showed up for a search for Gov. Wm. Bradford. I'll send you more in a private e-mail. Thanks for your interest.

Hello. Your portrait of William Bradford looks like the posthumous one of William Bradford(1755-1785), second US Attorney General under Pres.George Washington. It has been reversed laterally. Those two William Bradford families are not related. The AG’s family is the Philadelphia family of printers, papermaker, and publishers and pewterers/silversmith, lawyer and AG. Some family mistakenly thought they were connected to the New England family but not so, at least in America. The Philadelphia family is in my lineage. This confusion needs to be clarified. William Bradford, AG, and wife Susan Vergereau Boudinot had no children. His older brother, Thomas, and wife, Elizabeth Loockerman, had children, as did others. A New England connection came when Eliza Loockerman Bradford married Rev. William Theodore Dwight, son of Rev. Timothy Dwight, DD., late Pres. of Yale College(1795-1817). If you would like to discuss this, please contact me. Thank you. Adele

He was my 14th great-great grandfather, Governor Bradford of Massachusetts from my mother's side of the family tree. My older brother, Carl Starck Albro was able to complete all 14 generation family tree all the way to the Governor Bradford. My name is Eric Jonathan Albro. You may contact him for a proven family tree. I have a question, the recent new silver coin that commemorated of our Governor Bradford, along with the Mayflower Governor, John Carver, was his picture shown in the new silver coin, if so, we have the rights to earn our commission for their selling coins of our great-great grandfather? PCS Stamps & Coins are currently selling the Mayflower 400th Anniversary Reverse Proof Silver Medal, 2020 Early Issue PCGS PR70 at the amount of $259 plus $8 shipping and service fees, before computing a state sales tax. Unfortunately, Kathryn Haueisen in above comment mentioned that it might be over 10 million names were coming from this same family tree, therefore, it might not be worth to fight for selling our grandfather's statue on the silver-dollar coin?

I've been wondering exactly how many of us trace part of our family tree back to people on the Mayflower. I've heard the number may be as high as 10Million in the US and 35Million around the world. That just amazes me.
